OPENING SNIPPET FROM CLASS REUNION

Oh me, another day. Seems like every one gets a little rougher. House the usual mess, never notice it till everyone's gone. Jesus eleven o'clock. I'm getting up later every day. Would they clean up their breakfast dishes? Naw. Let Dad do it. He's home all day. Shit the garbage's stopped up the drain. Grease film's to the edge of the sink and I have to go pearl diving. Where the hell's that coffee pot?

Hello. What's this? The mail. Great. Dishes can wait. Electric bill. Oh, my growling gut. Phone bill. Wish I could go out.

Newspaper bill. I'd sneak down to the liquor store and buy a bottle. Dentist bill. This must be how alcoholism starts. Doctor bill. Daytime drinking. Pump repair bill. Mints to hide the smell. What have we here? Hotshit a letter from Wisconsin. Hey from my old high school class president. Hallelujah! An invite to our 25th anniversary graduation reunion. Glory be. Go away, tears scalding my cheeks. Can I be touched ? Or is that a throat-knot I can't quite swallow. I'm choked up. Syncopated stomach. I got to poop

A FORM OF WORK THAT BECOMES A CONSTRUCTION

A BOOKLET BY KEN BABBS

Capn,
"a form of work that becomes a construct" is real good. Are you doing , or have you done, more? Your way of piecing it together is primo; good selection, good comments. I could read as much of that stuff as you could tack together.
-- robert hunter

Run out and laid down by the Intrepid Traveler, Ken Babbs, the reader will find Babbs has captured Cassady's bombasta-megaforce intellectual prowess like a mind boring weevil.

Set in New York in 1964, while the pranksters were ensconced in a Madhattan apartment with the bus parked outside, the story is a cosmic encompassing, earth connected, rambling account of Cassady's quest to overcome the one-thirtieth-of-a-second-lag between reality and mind, told mostly by Cassady hisself, with Babbs interjecting pertinent elucidating factoidal comments.

This edition of 100 comes with a cosmic and electrifying cover by artist, Darrin Brenner-Rolat. It is signed by the author, Ken Babbs. 16 pages. 5 by 8 inches.

AN EXCERPT

". . . but what's the health? It's the same problem as with India. Self. In other words, over there, all those fakirs are holding their arse for a thousand years, or standing on their nose for self! It's a hangup. We're not here for self. We're here for service. We're here to multiply. Subdue ye the earth and all that. We're here to make like three dimensional chess. ("We are, after all, fourth dimensional beings inhabiting a three dimensional body living on a two dimensional world." [right-wrong, good-evil, black-white, yes-no]) We're here to accentuate. (the positive, eliminate the negative, don't mess with Mister inbetween) In other words, everything is speeding up in this decade, what you might say a form of Armeggedon in many ways."

-- Neal Cassady
