The Grand Finale

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2003

4:30 pm--Bagdad Theater, Portland, OR

Ed McClanahan

Bagdad turned out to be a great scene, full up. Rosalie Sorrels (pic on the left) and Gus were good. Walt Curtis and Marty Christensen are a bit over the edge but Portland people so everyone gave it to them. Had a big band with eli and simon and craig the drummer and dave on keyboards; they were like the tonight show band, playing little snippets between speakers; also joining in on our songs; also had some time at end to do their own thing. The theater gave us more time than we figgered. What a theater. movies but with tables in front of the seats and beer and wine you could take in with you. A cafe next door we all ate at afterwards. Long bus ride but went real good with everyone having fun; playing poker, singing and carrying on and Freddy bought a couple bottles of wine for the trip home. on the way up we left ed at the rest stop but he caught up in Chas Hansen's car. I had an epissany in the men's room. was drinking a beer and pissing and I said, let's eliminate the middle man, and I poured the beer straight into the urinal. Murphy stuck a bean bag bean in her ear and zane had to dig it out with a cockscrew.

Marty Christensen

Miz Murphy reads a story from Spit 7 wherein she is Happy, Kesey's dog. Pat Mackey and his daughter Sofie have a Kesey snippet in the same issue.

"Accelerating and expanding sense of possibilty."

No wonder we couldn't remember it.
