Make The Pie Higher

by Richard Thompson, Washington Post

Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the internet
Become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

Feng Shui

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish
Can coexist.

Feng Shui

Families is where our nation finds hope
Where our wings take dream.
Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher!

Feng Shui

Oh feng shui you, and feng shui me
Create an energy flow that don't mess with my chi.

A flow so direct like that of my birth
Create an aura of peace, of balance, of mirth.

A little bell here, a mirror there --
Oops, I sense some blockage, better move that
chair.
Gonna put a little froggy by the door
'Sposed to bring in the money; I could always use more.

A little bitty Buddha in the middle of the house --
Think it's made of sandstone, bought it shopping
down in Laos.
A bubbling little fountain full of pebbles smooth
and rare --
Gonna put it in the bathroom, its sound always
sends me there.

And I'll light a pretty candle, and a stick of Nag
Champi
So I'll feel real groovy and not get all sad and
grumpy.
My home will be amazing; it will send you reeling,
man --
The energy will flow so big, I won't need no
ceiling fan.

Oh feng shui you and feng shui me
Create an energy flow that don't mess with my chi.

A flow so direct, like that of my birth
Create an aura of peace, of balance, of mirth.

Feng shui funny shui say I need your help today
won't you clear a path for me
won't you make my life E-Z
I'll move all my stuff around
till I get the proper sound
mirrors, crystals, bells and beads
guide good spirits through the weeds
dumps their blessings in my lap
divert and foil disruptive crap
sweet and mellow that's the ticket
guide me through life s thorny thicket
