I got a call from a man in Seattle telling
me he had picked up a little booklet in a used bookstore and
thought I'd be interested in it. He said it seemed to be portions
of Kesey's jail journal with some of his drawings. My interest
was definitely piqued (peaking peaking) and so he sent it to
me.
It is a wonderful little work. The guy
who did it cut out text and pictures of selections of Kesey's
Jail Journal that were published in Ramparts Magazine in November
1967, right after Kesey got out of the Sheriff's Honor Camp in
San Mateo County, right over the hill from Kesey's home in La
Honda.
I'll share the booklet with you and then
pass it on to Kesey's wife.
