HERE'S SOME RESPONSES ABOUT THE CD

Ragged---I've heard about Dave Nelson forever but you have to tell me from where? Did he play with Garcia--old timey music??

Yes, David Nelson and Garcia were old friends and Jerry got David to join in on Old and In the Way, I think, and then New Riders of the Purple Sage.

I'm confused on St. Kesey--is that you or Kesey singing?

That's me singing and Kesey coming in talking to the students hipping them to where it's at.

Like the KRVN stuff--when was it recorded? I know it's recent because of the April Fools stuff on the website.

yes, this year and the stuff on the website was from that interview.

Cap'n--the trombone is the perfect instrument for you--how'd you come to it?

I've played the tromone since sixth grade, gave it up for a while then picked it up again.

Cassady Comes. You've been holding out on us, Cap'n. Who would have thought you had this particular conversation taped????

There's a whole shit and kaboodle of those bus tapes and they should all be put on CD

SECOND RESPONSE

Just some thoughts as they came. Ya gots your humor, ya gots your history, you gots your sensibilities...when you get your copy of Hodge Podge you gots to be Skypiloting. "Ragged"...It's the voices, warm, ya can hear the smiles, relax into it. Cap'n got the Bone sliden along the Oregon Trail, doin that Saginaw rag. "Skypilot"...are you strapped in? Buckle up baby, we're takin off. "Through the Night" The organ, that voice, those backround singers. Yea man it's King Charles shining Rays through a blue night. "Saint Kesey" The saint Kesey is infirm is he. It's loose fitten, colors red yellow and black. Thats energy talkin in that voice. God bless him God bless him. He did, He did! "Clips" Neils voice, a muse, snippits and clips colage but don't collide. "Airship 1-5" It's a wonderful website, skypilotclub oh yes it is, and it's a wonderful voice, both the Cap'ns and Garcias. Ole Jerry singing he went to see the captain, guitar now, sparkling. High beautiful voice. Did I hear Blimp? Did I hear Ipod? Spirit spirit share it share it. There is still room for love. Gotta tell ya club members, Cap'n Babbs gotta voice that needs hearing.      "Anonymous" Yea, its gotta beat to move your feet, smooth jive keeping it alive. Another living mystery. "John Coltrane" track 12...How good is this? How good is this? Well the spirits are about to speak. Are they friendly spirits? Friendly? Just listen. " Cassidy" The perfect forshawdow. This is a pocket filled with diamonds. Hear it faint, there, in the background, "Love Potion # Nine". Cash and check, cash and check. Cowboy neil deciding to take the wheel. "She nah her" He makes it sound easy and I think you know what he means. If it remains a mystery thats just all right with me.  "Hodge Podge" may be over, but this smile remains. Cap'n you done good!   Thanks for the gem. #43 Sparks

THIRD RESPONSE

listening to senor kesey invite cassady stay,
imbibe drops of reason and drive the getaway bus
is like having like having footage of wright brothers
at kitty hawk... no...
it's like having an 8 track of Hannibal's troops ask,
"Have you thought about elephants?
nahhh...
like having a viewmaster series of... of . . .
nope... it's not that at all...
it's like listening to cultural architects,
(of the only successful revolution in the last
millenium that never fired a shot and still won),
talking.
infuckingcredible it exhists...

MISH MASH CD

Capn,

I was listening to your mish mash CD on the way to a job in London. The journey ended at the same moment one of the tracks did (one with you and Kesey in jamming in the barn.) I pulled off the headphones and stepped onto the platform. Strange things were happening, although it was a really busy, hectic commuter time of day, everyone around me seemed to be moving in slow motion but I wasn't. I wasn't fast, I was almost gliding. The weird ambience was compounded with the sound of the baggage truck that makes a noise like the red alert sound in the original Star Trek. After a minute it all faded back to normality and the day continued as normal.
I'm writing just to say WOW,thanks for providing the catalyst for such a fantastic moment.
