WEDNESDAY, JULY 14, 2004 ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST R.I.P. TONY SELDEN Tony Selden, the Vagabond Poet, died of cancer a few days back. Tony is an old friend, a poet who rises to any occasion. He came to the Fourth of July every year he could make it and was always a popular, well loved performer. He hung out under the trees in the shade, resting on a blanket with his friends. This year wse dedicated the Poetic Hoo Haw to Tony. I was fortunate to be able to do readings and rappings with Tony many times and we always ran it to the limit. The picture above was taken at the Jan Kerouac benefit in San Francicsco some years ago when we were raising money to get Jan a new kidney. Adios, Tony, and we will see you on the other shore.

TUESDAY, JULY 13, 2004 Attention on deck! The Capn has returned. He is shot and surly and brooks no interruptions of his sleep for he is deprived and must catch up. He is deprived on accounta he is depraved. Most terrible lots of work to get caught up on, ketchup all over his face, so be patient with the old man as he slowly returns to form.
THURSDAY, JULY 8, 2004 Ye olde Capn departs today for Reno, Nevada for a reunion of his old Marine Corps squadron mates of 1962-63, first time I sees the lads in 41 years and I hope they talk about something other than their ills and pills. Stay tuned for a complete report.
